Cleveland County sits on heavy clay soil that expands when it absorbs moisture and shrinks back during dry spells. 

That cycle of swelling and contracting puts constant pressure on buried water lines and sewer pipes, gradually shifting joints, cracking older pipe materials, and creating the kind of underground damage that rarely announces itself until the situation is already serious.

Moore’s winters make things worse. When temperatures drop hard in January and February, pipes running through exterior walls, uninsulated garage spaces, or under older homes with open crawl spaces become genuinely vulnerable. 

Burst pipe calls spike every single winter across Moore’s established neighborhoods, and they tend to happen at the worst possible times because that’s when the cold hits hardest.

The hard water situation across the Moore and Cleveland County area is another factor that compounds over time.
